  4. In the best traditions of the Internet, this group was formed in response
  5. to patent claims by the Unysis corporation concerning the GIF standard.
  6. (See <http://www.xmission.com/~mgm/gif> for details.)  It has become
  7. a design group for a significantly better format for images requiring
  8. lossless compression, namely, the Portable Network Graphics (PNG) format.
